Privacy Policy

How we handle your information.

We collect as little as possible. This policy explains exactly what that means, what happens when you use the contact form, and the rights you hold.

Last updated · August 1, 2026

In short: this is a content website. We do not sell or share personal information for money or cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not run advertising trackers, and the only way to contact anyone is a single form that opens your own email application.

1

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how The Palisades Guide (the "Site," "we," "us") handles information in connection with your use of this website. It applies to this website only, and not to any third-party website you reach by following a link from here. This Site is intended for users in the United States.

2

Information we collect

We keep data collection deliberately minimal:

  • Information you choose to provide: if you use the contact form, the name, email address, area of interest, and message you type are placed into a draft email in your own email application. You control whether to send it.
  • Technical log data: like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically process standard request data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and timestamps in order to serve pages, maintain security, and prevent abuse.
  • Local browser storage: a single strictly necessary entry that remembers whether you dismissed the cookie notice.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identifiers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or health information, and you should never submit them to us.

3

How the contact form works

The contact form does not transmit your submission to a database or third-party marketing platform. When you submit it, your browser opens your own email client with a pre-filled message addressed to a single designated recipient. Delivery, storage, and retention of that message are governed by your email provider and by the recipient — not by this Site.

Because your message travels through ordinary email, it is not encrypted end to end. Do not send confidential, sensitive, or legally privileged information.

4

How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

  • Deliver, operate, secure, and maintain the website.
  • Respond to an inquiry you voluntarily send us.
  • Diagnose technical problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the integrity of the site.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5

We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended and comparable state privacy laws. We do not receive payment for referrals of your personal information.

6

Service providers and disclosure

We may rely on infrastructure providers (such as website hosting and content delivery services) that process technical data strictly on our behalf to make the Site available. We may also disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or lawful government request; to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

7

Data retention and security

We retain technical log data only as long as reasonably needed for security and operational purposes. Because inquiries travel by ordinary email, retention of those messages is controlled by the sender's and recipient's email systems.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a content website. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security.

8

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. We do not engage in sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

You may exercise any applicable right, or appeal a decision, through our contact form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline requests where an exception applies.

We honor Global Privacy Control and similar browser-based opt-out preference signals where required by law; because we do not sell or share personal information, such a signal requires no additional action.

9

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10

Third-party sites

The Site links to independent third-party websites and businesses. Once you follow a link, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third party, and you should review their policies directly.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected prominently on this page.
