The Palisades Country Club is the community's social gravity. Its clubhouse — designed as a stone-and-timber lodge sitting on the community's highest ridge — houses the golf operation, member dining, event space, and a suite of quiet reading rooms that resemble the interior of a private hotel more than a suburban club.

The clubhouse works because it lets a family plan the morning, the afternoon, and the evening from a single lobby.

The clubhouse's ground floor is organized around a grand hall with a full-height stone fireplace, flanked by the main dining room, a members-only grille, and a covered veranda that seats 120 for seasonal outdoor dining. A children's activities suite, professionally staffed on weekends, allows parents to move between the pool complex, the courts, and the veranda without reorganizing the day.

The Palisades' racquet complex includes eight tennis courts (a mix of clay and cushioned hard), dedicated pickleball courts with permanent lines, and a dedicated racquet pro shop. League play runs year-round, and the club's junior racquet program is one of the largest in the Charlotte region.

The pool complex — a lap pool, a family leisure pool, and a covered kids' pool — sits behind the clubhouse with poolside dining and cabana service through the season. The fitness operation includes a full weight and cardio floor, group fitness studios, and a personal training staff on staff year-round.

Membership is graduated — Full (Golf), Sport, and Social — and Palisades residents receive priority access. Non-resident members are accepted subject to a review process and a modest cap intended to preserve the club's resident character.

Full (Golf) membership

The broadest category: unlimited access to the Nicklaus Design course with advance tee-time privileges, full practice facility use, cart and bag storage, tournament eligibility, and every racquet, aquatics, fitness, and dining privilege included in the lower tiers. Best suited to households where golf is played weekly rather than occasionally.

Sport membership

Covers the racquet complex (tennis and pickleball, league play, junior programs), the pool complex, the fitness floor and group classes, and full clubhouse dining — with limited or fee-based golf access depending on season and availability. This is the most common category among families who use the club daily but do not play a full golf schedule.

Social membership

Clubhouse dining, the grille, the veranda, member events, holiday programming, and access to the club's social calendar, with aquatics and fitness typically available at a reduced scope. It is the entry point for residents who want the club as a social center rather than an athletic one, and it can generally be upgraded to Sport or Full as household use changes.

Initiation, dues, and waitlists

Each category carries its own initiation contribution and monthly dues, plus a food-and-beverage minimum applied quarterly. Golf categories are capped, so a waitlist is periodically in effect even for residents. Because dues schedules, caps, and transfer terms are set by the club and revised over time, confirm current figures directly with the club membership office before you make a purchase decision that assumes a specific category.
